This is the umpteenth time I've read this book. I absolutely love it. Currently nothing out there new that I want to read.

I was convinced I had read September before, but it would seem that this was one of Rosamunde Pilcher's doorstops has escaped me, or it was so long ago that I cannot remember it.

Having horrors that it would be much like 'The Shell Seekers', which I absolutely loathed, it has struck me as rather satisfying that so far its proving good value [to coin an Edward Carey-Lewis quote].

I can honestly say this is the best book I've started reading in absolutely ages. I honestly didn't want to put it down, only the fact that I "really" had things to do made me leave the sofa. It's got me gripped. The only thing that's confusing me, is, should I have read "The Gunner Girl," before I embarked on The English Agent as I have noticed both of the lead characters are named Edie?

I've read this a long time ago, but I can remember enjoying it so much it deserves a re-read.
