i love leigh bardugo with my entire heart and soul but holy shit is this book confusing as HELL i literally can feel my brain overheating trying to keep up but hopefully i can make it through another 60 pages at least because i WANNA KNOW WHAT HAPPENS

so yea its narrated by a kid but i rly like how the writer writes it in a way so that you can easily filter his naive perception of the events and understand them from the perspectives of the adults around him so you know whats actually going on and you just wANT TO PROTECT THIS SMOL INNOCENT CHILD

i listened to this book a few years ago but i don't think i understood everything the first time around because i was smol and innocent so time for a re-read!. i do remember it being really really good, very well written and super sad... so perfect for me:)
