There are a few revelations happening in this part of the book that I might need to take a minute to digest.

Not to give anything away, but it's really hard to grasp that everything is falling into place this easily. It feels this could just have been a book on its own without delving into an entire series.

This does read like a YA Fantasy novel. I normally do not like those because they tend to be angsty.

So far, I'm getting that kind of vibe from this novel and there are some missteps so far. The first third I've read this far, especially the escape from the goblin camp made this interesting, but I'm starting to lose interest.

Taking a break with a small audio drama from Patterson I've been meaning to check out.

It's ok so far. I just have to keep reminding myself that this is told from the perspective of a modern day teen/20-something. So a lot of the observations can be very naive at times or rudimentary.

I don't like the fact that some advanced concepts always seem to come 'easy' to Cora when it's convenient to the plot.
