today's kind of crazy book-wise, four authors I read all released books today, 3 of which I would consider to be favorite authors.

Why do I always forget about Myron? He's the best.

I can't believe it's been 8 years since the last time I read through Riyria Revelations. EIGHT YEARS! HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE!?! That's as long as it's been since I read any of A Deepness in the Sky: practically antediluvian!

"As a panther strikes down a bull moose at bay" look, I like Howard's florid prose and his colorful metaphors, but come on, panthers live in south/central america, moose live in northern north america, a panther wouldn't know what to do with a moose if somehow their paths did cross. I'm going to hope he was facing a deadline and writing at 4 am with about half an hour of sleep, that's the only excuse I can imagine.

It say something about how people view moors that when I typed in murder on the moor, like 5 different books popped up.

Not really an update, but just noticed it's been over 8 years since I read any of this. Even now I can't think about it without feeling a deep visceral loathing for the Emergents... Lousy brain-washing Machiavellian megalomaniacal psychos. WHY COULDN'T IT JUST HAVE BEEN A BOOK ABOUT COOL DIESELPUNK SAPIENT SPIDERS ON A WORLD WITH CRAZY TIDAL VARIATION!?!

I know that getting struck by lightning was more likely, but still wish I'd won the Strength of the Few ARC giveaway. That ending... so many questions, so few answers, every time I read this I want to jump right into the next book, but it's still 4.5 months until release. GAH!
