Joe is so much more interesting than Sam. I have no idea why a particular friend of mine said that Sam is the interesting one and he's the hot one.

In the anime, this was one of the better arcs, and so far, that's true here as well.

It's been a month and a half since I last read from this novel, and I now have little idea what's going on.

This us impossible tot all about without sounding hyperbolic.

I'm not really sure what to say about this. I think it kind of speaks for itself.

Ari is so bland. really, we know nothing about her.

I guess this was kind of a subversion of Be Careful What You Wish For? I dunno, maybe it could've been clever, but the themes here just strike me as unfocused.

YES! I've been waiting the entire book for that to happen.

So is there any dialogue in this play, or is it just a long series of soliloquies?

There really is nothing to say about this. It's just plain dull.

This is more rhetoric than I expected. It's good that Danforth showed some restraint here - the entire book isn't just one political message about how terrible ex-gay therapy is. She only begins the rhetoric where it's completely appropriate - after we've seen the evidence for her thesis, and where it reflects Cameron's natural thoughts. Maybe I'd be more negative if I didn't already agree with her, but still.

This is so fucking boring. Ari has no personality, and this world is really clichéd.

This just isn't very interesting or memorable. I'm struggling to think of anything at all to say about it.

That was unexpected. But it really worked. All of this makes me feel extremely lucky.

This is pretty good, I suppose. Some excellent world building. I suspect this won't be as good as Liar, but I'll take what I can get.

Well this sucks. The book started in the wrong place - we needed some kind of introduction to Jackson for the opening scene to be at all meaningful. Not to mention the inexcusable among of telling (rather than showing) in this prose, and the vastly unnecessary infodump that was the prologue.

There is a lot of weed in this novel. I suppose it's fitting, given the circumstances, although I'm not sure how much it fits Cameron's character.

And everybody's dying. Because why not? It's not like I was invested enough in the character arcs to want to see them completed.

I think I'm going to like Jane Fonda, even if naming her after a celebrity was a weird choice.

This part makes me feel lucky.

After reading this, I'm not thinking about any of the questions that I was told I would be. Achebe doesn't invite you to ponder whether what anybody does is right or wrong - he presents things in such a blandly objective way that there's nothing to ask about it.

Was this meant to be a kids story? It would certainly make the lack of subtlety fitting, and the style reminds me a little of Hans Christian Andersen.

I don't think I'll be able to review this book in a way that makes sense to anyone but me.

I have absolutely no investment in this. And why should I? Everything is told in the most objective, dull manner possible.

I wish Dickens had a little more space to flesh things out. But then, given this is Dickens we're talking about, too little is probably better than too much.

This is adorable. That's all I'll say.

I've pretty much already read this book, because all of its adaptations quote the dialogue almost word-for-word. It's a little annoying.

The dramatic confrontation scene. I'm starting to doubt that this is going to be a satisfying ending.

Aww. It makes me sad to see Cameron pretending to be straight.
