Too many characters that have central narratives.

Lark, Andar, and Aurealia is a really interesting dynamic and story on its own!

Cillian and Nova is a really interesting story on its own!

together? without any real cohesion and getting thrown randomly from character to character? Yeah it's hard to keep up...

Um... Like... okay, it's *fine* there is nothing about this that is inherently garbage but I think the author bit more off than they could chew.

there is infidelity in this book (which normally I despise) and I still love this. Yes!!! Give me some awesome and flawed characters!!! Also, this going to sound weird but I think it's handled really well and reminds me of Like Water For Chocolate in a way???
