Whew, “Swann’s Way” done. The flower imagery is great. The stream of consciousness is captivating. Proust is the mast of the longest grammatically correct sentences ever. And they pull you along the paths of his memories such that you hardly notice the stop signs along the way, making whole paragraphs seem like one sentence. Fifty pages of yearning for his mother is exhausting; the voyeurism of lesbians funny.
