Edison vs Westinghouse. Epic struggle for power. Fighting over direct current or alternate current of electricity. Both fought hard like politicians. Trying to get one another. While using animals to test electricity was cruel. No wonder animal rights activists cried foul. While I appreciate electricity. The way it was discovered and tested. I'll never understand. Edison paid a price though.

Organized crime seemed to run America. They had control much of everything until they tried to control politics and the men in it. I understand as Americans which some were got involved with elections. Vote they were entitled to but if some like Joe Kennedy seeking their help to get his son elected president and than his other son goes after them after the first son was elected president.Thats asking for trouble.

As frustrated as Bobby Kennedy was about not bringing down the mob during his committee hearings. I feel the same frustration towards the Democratic party who's a crime mob themselves and nothings getting done about that. It's all Trump's fault on everything.
Bobby Kennedy had one thing right the enemy is certainly within.

AN ELECTION IN DOUBT-It seems even back than the threats of stealing an election caused an uproar especially for President Grant who was not seeking a third term had to try and resolve a right outcome of the election of 1876. Both sides were accused of cheating. One way of resolve was from his signing of the Electoral Commission Act into law on January 29th.

Grants political journey. His campaign slogan was "Let us have Peace." He didn't seek the presidency yet it sought him.
Democrats slogan than was "This is a white man's country, let White men rule."
Democrats have a history of racism and they're blaming GOP today?
And Andrew Johnson a Democrat. What made Lincoln decide to choose him as his VP in 2nd term?

So far very interesting. I'm at Lincoln's General chapter. A very patriotic man who learned to be a General in the hardest of battles at a time when the nation was torn up. Grant was one of my favorites and Lincoln's best General.

Just finished a chapter on Socialism. Hannity explained the evil of communism and country's like Russia who support it. Socialism is communism its tyranny upon freedom. It's not a luxury. People and some govts want to control you.
"We have to emphasize specially to young people not only socialism's failures throughout the world, but the dilution of freedom that socialism requires.' Sean Hannity.

Book very disturbing. If those in high govt goes after you the way they did President Trump. Goes to show how the Deep State is and with half the country blinded by liberal lies it makes it even tougher. And adding Fake News that lies as well. Don't know how Trump handled it. But God Bless him.

WHAT WAS HE THINKING? President Lincoln nearly got himself killed on the war front where he visited a fort. He was warned to get down and he ignored it. Then a soldier next to him got shot in the leg and they then threatened the president to get down or get back to Washington.
Either he had a death wish or just didn't realize the danger there.
One chapter left. Very good book. Recommend many to read it.

Bob DeLacy Jr. is finished with Kennedy and Reagan: Why Their Legacies Endure
FINAL REVIEW-Both Presidents worked in the middle. One believed ideology didn't belong to which both sides cling to. One side talks naive and the other doesn't come up with any new ideas. The other believed in compromise, refused confrontations. Author says both presidents wouldn't make it into today's politics. I say maybe so but America needs these type of leaders. Working down the middle, with new ideas, compromising

"It is unfortunate that unity for war against a common aggressor is far easier than unity for peace."-John F. Kennedy.

Both Reagan and Kennedy chose peace. Whatever else they accomplished the author writes had no greater legacy. Reagan and Kennedy were peacemakers. They had hope in it. Deep down so do I.

Abraham Lincoln so disappointed over Gen.Meade for not moving on the enemy. If I gone up there. I could have whipped them myself. Our army held the war in the hollow of their hand and they would not close it."
It was frustrating for Lincoln more than anything having Generals that could not or would not move when they had a chance to advance over the enemy. Makes you wonder if that war would of ended sooner.

A biographer once said that the only qualifications for the most powerful office in the world was wanting it. Both JFK and Reagan wanted it.
"Look at John F. Kennedy,"A Reagan supporter said. "He didn't have much of a record as a senator. But he made a great appearance."
"The most powerful single force in the world today,"JFK said."... is man's eternal desire to be free and independent."

I can understand why one book on Lincoln was called a Team of Rivals after reading here the problems within Lincoln's cabinet. Lincoln was aware of it,reminded him of a story of a horse where it was carried two bags. One each side of it. One bag had a pumpkin in it. To level the horse another pumpkin was put in the other bag. This is how Lincoln solved his cabinet crisis. Without accepting any resignations.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS of Kennedy and Reagan were incredible maybe not as good as Jefferson or Teddy Roosevelt but they understood the power of words and took care in choosing the right words. Their ability to command and inspire an audience was awesome.
They saw themselves as men of ideas. I too saw the power of words and words if used right can inspire and motivate. Kennedy and Reagan were good at it.

IN CHAPTER INSTRUMENT OF GOD'S HANDS it seemed by 1862 President Lincoln needed divine help because everything seemed to be going wrong, His hope was for a speedy end to the war was quickly dashed. My thoughts is nothing is ever that simple. If we depend on God those things end at God's choosing because He knows the right time and place to end them and the right people to end them. Gen. McCellan was useless.

What I liked and it was noted JFK considered himself a New Deal liberal. Which I like to consider myself because I prefer to be more center and I think both have good ideas when they want to. Both can be strong and idealists. And Kennedy occasionally called himself a Conservative Liberal which meant he was chartering an INDEPENDENT PATH. Exactly.
RONALD REAGAN was perhaps more conservative but not with Nancy's help.

Both Kennedy and Reagan were targets of assassination, one died the other survived. When Reagan survived he was a national hero. Even Tip O'Neill prayed for him. Kennedy's death affected and wounded this nation forever..
Both presidents had been labeled the most Irish of presidents-each gifted with different forms of what is often described as Irish wit. My thoughts-They both certainly had it.

At the point where Reagan just got shot and the govt can't decide who's in charge. Even Reagan before his surgery asked,"Who's guarding the house?' To that affect. What a mess that was. But great book so far.

THE DEATH OF ELVIS is very hard to read. As an Elvis fan and always will be wished he had more help starting with him helping himself.
