The last few chapters I read-the Warsaw Protocol has become a fiasco. With an auction for information turned into a blood bath and thinking by some getting info on Polands president will assure missiles for U. S. While others keeping info sealed. Now those left conspiring are trying to get info. Cotton Malone and agent Stephanie in the middle. Don't envy them. The final result will be in those caves.

Seems Cotton's between a rock and the US. Being a part of something the president wants and what Poland doesn't want. Not to mention Stephanie's job I'd on the line.

Story just starting. What Cotton has to do, I'm not sure yet. But he's between his old boss Stephanie and the White House Deputy national security adviser. Assistant to the president. Whom Cotton thinks not much of. Concerning Poland and the United States and concerns of a British broker.

Love the Cotton Malone character. Lincoln Myth was fun to read. The Warsaw Protocol starting out interesting.

ARNOLD BETRAYS spy ring maybe in trouble because of him.

At the point with Benedict Arnold. A spy within against Americans. I will never understand this man.

The French coming to America's aide was a blessing from God. Also, the information Washington received from his spy ring. To help convince the British was going to be attacked in New York but weren't to buy time for the French to come ashore.

Creating a spy ring in Washington's time was more dangerous than today. The risks are the same, but then they didn't have what we have today.

Robert Townsend, a young man who became a spy for George Washington. Forced into fighting the enemy because of their treatment of his family. It took courage to do this. Without him and the others, we might not have beaten those brutes. They saved the American Revolution.

Whoever thought than using the name John Bolton as a spy name.

Reading about Captain Hale George Washington's young spy was sad to read. A brave man who took on a challenge bigger than himself plus the timing was bad sending him in. Thanks to Hale's loyalist cousins who turned him in and was hanged. Washington felt bad but it told him he needed a bigger spy ring to beat the British.
Hale was inspired to take on this challenge thru words from Lt. Tallmadge and stepped forward.

Just began an interesting story of history.

A long journey thru the Age of Lincoln. So much researched thru those times that seems were still trying to find that thing yet not determined to try and get it done. Trying to find our way. Seems that civil war is still with us. I'll be thinking about this for some time.

Remember reading about the railroad strikes. The massacre of native Americans. We think we live in awful times. Nothing compared to what they lived. Economically were facing issues but nothing like they did. Lincoln would never foresee this.

THE PROMISED LAND-Chapter was hard to read. Going thru the end of the Civil War,the assassination of Lincoln and the African Americans continue to going thru being 2nd to everyone else.
If they couldn't continue to chain them they would try to keep denying their rights as citizens and free men.
It seems to keep the jewel of liberty within the family of freedom was still being denied. Frustration was F. Douglass.

Opposing ideologies is what doomed the south in this war. It caused internal conflict. They predicated on a dream of internal unity that crossed lines of class,gender and races was never realized.
There was not enough shared ideology to overcome class conflict.Contradictions within and among southerners doomed the confederacy
Divine Providence did not intervene on the confederate's behalf. Interesting.

A Giant holocaust of death is a good example describing the horrifying deaths of north and south soldiers in the Civil War. How Lincoln saw it through I can't imagine. No wonder he aged 10yrs afterwards.

Very detailed book of the times surrounding Lincoln and Slavery and leading up to his presidency. I'm on chapter six. So I am only beginning.

Encourage to read good book.

Reading about Tokyo Rose and the false accusation of one American woman of being a traitor. Spent 6yrs in prison only to be pardoned later by Gerald Ford. She deserved a Purple Heart for the shit she went thru.
