Just started with the story of the incident JFK had as a lieutenant commander on the PT Boat 109. Which was destroyed by a Japanese Destroyer in World War 2. JFK kept those who survived alive until help finally came. He was a hero.

Love it so far. To make something, you have to work hard for it. Fear often gets in the way. I agree.

RONALD REAGAN I remember his speech on the Iran Contra thing. He didn't believe he did it, but facts said otherwise. Perhaps altzeimers was setting in.
GEORGE H.W.BUSH I thought he handled Operation Desert Storm well.
BILL CLINTON Thought he was ok as president. Shaking hands with JFK when he was young was cool. And didn't know Hillary was a Republican in her youth 😳.

I think the history of Nixon despite Watergate is becoming brighter for him. He became a better statesman afterward.
Gerald Ford was right in pardoning Nixon. History sees that now, and even Carter thanked him.
Jimmy Carter was the first president who got my attention. Didn't understand why his policies failed years later. But I remember the hostage deal. Iran is still a problem today.

Robert Taft was courageous in speaking his mind. Whether agreeable or not. He was exercising his liberty,which was liberty of the individual to think his own thoughts.

Eisenhower was a commander and chief. Kennedy was an idealist with flaws. And Johnson had Vietnam. Sad because I liked his Great Society idea.

It's a shame as I read this. I am reminded how politics hasn't changed. And those who stand up still is persecuted by both parties and the newspapers 📰. Only worse now.

HOOVER,FDR AND TRUMAN-Like Hoover, I don't always agree with government handouts. But dealing with the Depression he had to use the power of the government to help. Ignoring it didn't help. Nor did it give him a decent presidency.
FDR dealt with a lot, but I agree America emerged stronger due to his leadership.
Truman didn't like the press either. I wonder why.

Reading 📚 Profiles in Courage is like watching politics today. Forgetting to realize there are some in politics trying to do the right things yet getting hammered by either their own party or the other side. Courage is rare in politics, but when you see it,it's history being made. While also your not sure what to support.
Today,I must be true or false...

Woodrow Wilson is having a stroke in White House I read before. But I didn't know he had lost a wife before. His 2nd wife kept the news of his stroke from the nation.
Warren Harding was a scandal himself.
Calvin Coolidge didn't run a 2nd term because he lost a son. Felt bad for him.

Sam Houston was a courageous senator. He stood his ground even when his constituents and party were against him. I liked his quote.
"I know neither North nor South;I know only the Union."
JFK pointed out how the senates power and esteem declined over the 2nd half of the nineteenth century but still held courageous men.

Interesting Theodore Roosevelt didn't like being called Teddy. But Teddy Bear 🧸 came to be during his term.
President Taft started the 7th inning g stretch.🙂⚾️.
Taft drank a lot of coffee thru his working hours. Says something to me.

Thomas Hart Benton was extraordinary.

Grover Cleveland not a very good president. His surgery that serious could of told the people but hid it for the sake of the presidency.
Benjamin Harrison was no better.

Reading 📚 about President Garfields assassination. It's shocking even after Lincolns death security for the president wasn't increased. His assassin was like the others. Boasting, he did it for the country. Idiot.
Chester Arthur felt bad about him losing his wife. But I was surprised he loved becoming vice-president when everyone else hated it. He didn't like the presidency. I was glad not a lot happened.

Great crises produce great men and great deeds of courage.
Daniel Webster was one of them.Seventh of March speech produced courage.

I've read this before,but I'm reading 📚 again. JFK shares some great stories of political courage. And it's a favorite of mine. I wanted to add it to the books 📚 I've read and shared here.

Read thru the presidencies of Lincoln to Grant.
Former president Franklin Pierce, who didn't agree with Lincolns policies, did share a nice letter after Lincolns lost Willie. For both suffered great loss. It was comforting he reached out like that.
ANDREW JOHNSON 1st president to be impeached. His trying to reconstruct the nation was not bringing it together.Grant changed that. Plus, he kicked KKKs ass.

Reading the train accident that killed his only son left on way to Washington for President-elect Pierce was tragic to read.Felt bad for him and wife.Don't know how he could go on and deal with the presidency but he felt God was punishing him.He took oath of office on a law book instead of a Bible,but in his hour of grieve he told the nation,"You have summoned me in my weakness.You must sustain me by your strength."

It's sad that James Polk is all but forgotten. Andrew Jackson's home is visited more than his. Died at such young age 53. It seemed he did in his one term, but his last words to his wife were special."I love you, Sarah. For all eternity. I love you. "
The Cholea pandemic was bad and killed Zachary Taylor, who only had a year and a half in his presidency.

I'm up through Harrison. Interesting to learn Harrison didn't die because of the cold during his inauguration speech. But from bacteria in the water system.
Andrew Jackson's wife died before he entered White House .But the cruelty by the press treating her unfairly because there was a mess up with divorce with her first husband. Like she purposely married two men. Press never changes.

John Quincy Adams story was interesting. Followed his father to the presidency. Yet, he was a better congressman.

Learning that a Supreme Court justice was looking to boost the power of the Court. Says there's always somebody about power.John Marshall, a Supreme Court justice, was one of them and a distant cousin of President Jefferson who both became bitter enemies.

Kurt and Joe are caught with Commander Wells. This Colon is nuts. Gamay still trapped.

Up to Appendix Nine. Interesting thoughts. George Washington was obviously by some not researched well as this book. His faith and the sermons he kept and heard argue against him being a deist.

Paul's been tagged. Gamay on the run. Colon is merciless. Getting interesting.

Finished m ain part of book. Going into appendix sections. It took time to read it. But nothing more can it prove through it. George Washington was a man of faith. HE WAS NOT A DEIST.
If anyone is still convinced he was a deist, then they are lost from truth.
In his own writings, Washington spoke of God and his faith. Revisionists need to search again.
AFTER reading this book.Tis well.

They're figuring out what's happening to the men. Paul and Gamay were nearly done in. Kurt and others headed to Providencia.

Read some interesting chapters. Thought some Numa teams were done. But they got thru. They need to find those mind controlling bastards.
