Having issues with the narrative. The idea of the story has lots of potential, and most if it is being wasted.

When I've got this book, I thought it was a standalone. It was a free book. It is not a standalone, but a sequel. It does need the sequel to be better understood, but so far I like it.

This story is amazing!

Why haven't they died yet? Why? Instead the story is a long, poor romanticizing of abusive relationships, victim shaming and telling people that walking away from an abusive partner is a mistake, and abuse is excused when the abuser had a hard childhood.

There's only one way this story can improve: if one of the main characters die. Or if both of them die. Really, I wouldn't mind it if the rest of the book is just a lenghty description of their funeral.

It goes from worse to worse... How low can a writer fall?
