still not into how authors (who i’ve read so far) will world build by just stating what the world is like… surely there are other ways?? but idk because i don’t read much/any fantasy

wish this wasnt written in first person. don't know if third person would help but the MC is talking about how she inherited land and isn't keeping her mother's promises to the slaves because all she has is land/money and not love and respect and i'm not getting anything from it?? seems like such an easy way to start building empathy from the audience for the MC but instead it's just 'my mom did this. i can't.'
