This book is totally pissing me off. As someone with native American heritage I'm offended. This is simply A Simple Plan dressed up with booze and set on a reservation. That doesn't make it native. I understand the point but it's definitely been beaten like a dead horse, or elk I should say. This is like getting a crappy big mac and burning down every McDonald's and going after and killing every single employee.

SO CLOSE TO FINISHING THIS CRAPPY BOOK!!!! Other than not needed dog deaths, no real violence. Lame. But elk is sounding mighty tasty to this dogmom right now... who wants to skin some elk, baby?! Hurting poor sweet loving lil doggies. SHAME. ON. YOU. ELK. NOW. DIE.

So much basketball. Soooo boring. It's like when your grandmom tells you a story and throws in all this pointless backstory. I'm finding myself skimming and I'm not missing anything. That never bodes well. But after 10 pages I start zoning out and have to read something good. I'll finish this, but out of spite. Nothing cool and no horror yet.... I'm almost at 200 pages. How is this considered a horror book?

Cool plot. Love these characters. The writing is a breath of fresh air after reading SGJ. The pages just fly by.

I don't like how this book is written. It constantly feels oiled it's dragging. There is no build up, no suspense, no tension...I may not finish this disaster.

Well thank goodness lame lewis' story is over. That dragged on way more than necessary. To me this is more kitsch than actual horror. Not eerie or anything just feels like the author didn't know where to go with his story. It is getting very difficult to finish this one. It feels like a college essay that someone is trying to get to a certain word count. I feel that all should be as long as the first one. 10 pages.

Okay, so not a horror story. A story about mental health.

We get it. You really are against hunting. You probably have never been hunting from what I read. ENTIRELY UNREALISTIC. That being said, you are FOUR GROWN MEN. Meditate and do good for your community you feel so bad. No man would give a crap, let alone even remember that event 10 years later. Cry me a river, build a bridge and get over yourself. Man up. This is worse than what Brock Turner did? Nope. Better improve.

Not 50 pages in and you have a grotesque dog death. Kill, mame, brutalize all the humans you want, I don't fancy pet deaths. Who do you think you are Mr. Jones? Stephen King? HA! Setting this book down for a while. There is nothing I find good about this book. I'll come back to it, but once I've calmed down. Writing is also very poor and confusing. He will now be called the "like man". Just UGH.

Just lovely so far! Love the eeriness and environment of this story.

I'm really not feeling this book. Very regional dialect and already feels preachy. Had to start another book for motivation.

Really? No, really?! I thought of that about 1/3 way through. How is the big twist something that I thought was just a given? Very, very let down.

Definitely eerie. Very remenescent of the movie Insidious. I'm getting the same vibe.

Still unsure. Very slow.

Maybe I'm just not feeling this one. I'm gonna keep on going, but it's not that thrilling so far.
