This author, who is local to me, is hit and miss. Some of his work I like and some I don't. It's not that the author writes poorly - far from it. I don't like how some of the relationships are handled. Some also complain the author can be rather preachy, but I've no issues skimming over those sections. :)

I am impressed with this book so far. I've not read the comic book series with the same MC, but have heard good things about it.

I have enjoyed most of the Ballard and Bosch books. However, this one was a bit of a bait and switch. It's not Harry that is working with Ballard now, but Maddie Bosch, Harry's daughter.

I was uncertain if I would like this series from this author. I disliked this author's Alpha World series. I was worried that his series might be similar, and not one that I would enjoy. However, so far it has been a decent series.

Another Amazon suggestion that turned out decently. The sex is graphic, and reminds me some of the Helmsman series by Bill Baldwin.

So a couple of obvious errors that any editor should have caught. The MC, while fending off an assassination attempt, takes an arrow to the gut and an arrow in his forearm. Then the MC is fully healed but never mentions how and when he got fixed. Then MC goes off galavanting with the wolf girl. During yet another display of the MC's awesomeness, he accidentally turns the wolf girl's fur white - and nobody notices.

I have enjoyed this series so far. I see some complaints about the MC being bi-sexual, and currently has a half-elven woman lover. Sex is not graphic and I like how the author handles the sex scenes.

Like the first book in this series, this starts a bit slow. As we are getting toward the middle of the story, things are starting to speed up.

This is a hard book to read. The opening details the rise of the East India Company and how they F'd over what is now Bangladesh.

I have read everything that this author has published and belong to his Patreon group as well. So far, only one thing he has written I didn't care for. I wasn't sure about this new series, as there is little game-lit that I like. So far the characters, story and world I like to enough to ignore the game parts.

My wife and I both enjoyed the first book in this series. She beat me to this book. The wait for the audio book from our awesome local library was much shorter than the wait for the Kindle edition.

This has been surprisingly good. When Amazon recommends a book, it is always a crap shoot. So far this book has been a good one.

So Amazon recommended this book based on my previous reading. Usually I have found what Amazon recommends tends to be fairly awful. So far, this book has been decent.

My wife heard about this book during an author's panel at last year's NorWesCon by Shiv Ramdas. He recommended this book. As I am quite interested in WWII history, I grabbed a copy of this book from my awesome local library. Most Western-written history extols the awesomeness of Churchill. This book, written from an Eastern perspective, details how much of an a callous a-hole he was to India.
