Everyone says this series gets better as it progresses, but so far it’s still “meh” at best.

Hi I’m Harry Dresden, I’m rude and insolent to every supernatural creature I meet. Also I treat every female of every species as if it’s the 1950’s.

When exactly does it get better, because I’m running out of patience?

Dad joke spotted early in the book:
“Vampires go on diets? Yeah, make her’s a blood light.”

Not finished yet, but unless the ending severely disappoints I will be continuing this series.

I have no idea how this book ended up on my currently reading list. I don’t remember ever even seeing that book cover so I don’t know how I would have clicked it by mistake. 🤷‍♂️

A couple of notes so I don’t forget.

Second person who made a deal is easy to see coming but well done anyway.

The bisexuality of one character seems well done. I admit it took me a bit too long to catch on.

I love the the shift from one MC to another with excellent backstory.

Although I’m doing it with an open mind, I suspect I will not really like this book.
So why am I reading it? Because it’s on just about every reading list or blog I look at and constantly recommended on my “suggestions” pages.
Good or bad I will now be able to mark it as read.

I read a lot of short stories that messed with my reading goal. I’ve updated the goal to 75 which I’m not sure solves the problem. I wish it was pages read rather than books read…..maybe??
