Lind to city boy: "You looked like a human being out there on the road, and I haven't seen a real one in over a month."

Is she making a joke, or?? She doesn't see the rural people as 'real humans'? Despite how they've been opening their homes to her and feeding her? Doesn't see her students as real people?
wtf Lind

pg 70-74: Overlooking descriptions of Lind's attractiveness because she's meeting her love interest.
Except this: "I think I shall love you."
pg 75: "Do you? Will you tell me what your name is, first?" she said in a light tone...
It's been 15 minutes at most!

pg 50: 2nd geese appearance - "smote upon the heart like the loneliness of the universe"

pg 53: Geese are already back - "...a great summoning trumpet call, that seemed to hollow out the heavens.
"Wild geese," [Mark] said aloud. "They sound as if they know something about it -- something about being alone."

Actually not having a bad time despite the stat keeping, stress was probably a factor in my suffering through the first time.

pg 29: Our first wild geese appearance!

pg 34: Amelia glanced at [Lind] quickly and saw how pretty she was in a blue silk gown that seemed to make her hair even more lustrous and her skin more delicate.
...She could not understand herself for hating the girl at the moment.

pg 20: ...they nodded their heads energetically, and afterward whispered to each other how pretty the new teacher was.
(also a no cap T "teacher")

pg 28: When Lind was out of sight, Emma burst into tears of emotion. The Teacher was too beautiful and too sweet. She could not endure familiarity with her.
(Lind literally only asked what she was thinking about)
