It isn't Nancy E. Turner or Gwen Bristow. After hundred pages I am still not sure whether (as a whole) it will be a great historical fiction or just an interesting story. But I still hope for the first. Cross fingers! ;-)

I like this book. I am getting worried that I will be sad - afraid what will happen.

OK, I kept going and so far there haven't been any other sticky sexual references! I'm enjoying it now but we'll see how it goes...

Almost gave up on page 10, after our whore heroine decribes how she uses wool soaked in honey as a contraceptive: "Her first love called her his honey pot. That thrilled her. If only he knew how true it was. She was a walking pot of honey, the golden sweetness seeping between her legs. When he lapped it from her sticky thighs, he fancied it was her own unique sweetness he tasted." Ewww. This may be a DNF.

Reading this for the second time, and I still find the story as fascinating and beautifully written as I did the first time.

I can't finish this book. The main character is an aggravating twit, who can only think about herself. :-( <- on the wasted time.

It's good, but I wish the main character would stop crying every other page.
