The hell--?! Kinda a sudden ending, but on the other hand, I was growing tired of their soap opera. Satisfying enough ending. But I don't know how these Shakespearean boys will deal with everyday normalcy....

Conor's father is a mysterious, personality-less nebulous entity. I'm sure his father made a huge impact on Conor, and yet he's reduced to a cloudy negativity.

These men cry more in two weeks than I've cried in ten years. It's losing its impact.

I don't understand how Eli successfully got through years and years of schooling, had the discipline to stay focused and work hard for a masters degree in marine biology. That's not the way of heavily impetuous and almost psychotically romantic people.

WAH hah hah! Oh, Eli, darling, what a rapid cycling emotional mess you are!!! Outrageous.

Okay, we're back in the game. The crazies, inspired by insecurity, impulsiveness, and desperation, have subsided. For now. (Damn, this entertains. All I need now is an angry sex scene flowing into a tender moment with C and E. LOLZ. Oh boy, this is nuts.)

My GOD, the fucking drama! Conor is finally letting his balls drop and Eli is hysterical. Dial it back, Shakespeare. Or, perhaps, slow your roll, Wendig.

Eli's clinging, forceful presence is understandable.

Funny how as soon as an unbelievable behaviour is acknowledged by the character himself, it becomes believable. "It was all too soon. This was all too soon. Christ, tomorrow he was going to get married. Commit an illegal act in order to be with the man he loved. What was he thinking? Had he lost his mind?"

Conor, your a sullen, solemn fellow.

Also, if you're going to introduce someone as a fake marriage partner, you could at least spend a paragraph or two telling me her motive.... Nobody would do this just for shits and giggles... or just because they need to fill in as a plot device.

Although the injustice of het marriage being so easily available in shockingly disrespectful/quickie places (Vegas and such) and yet gay marriage between long-time lovers not even being legal is brought out forcefully. Eli and Conor's relationship seems slightly farcical.

They do cry a lot, don't they? Also, this "marriage to (female) stranger for a green card" business is making me frown....

The mom is bizarre.... one second she's telling her son he's a pervert and going to burn in hell, then she's all love and care and "I liked your man." What the ever lovin hell?

Conor's mother seems a "type" rather than a real individual.... Too quickly dismissed as one thing.

Oh my gaaaawwd, MORE drama?

But it's a stylized version of realism for emotional impact.

This is hilariously melodramatic and I love it; it's grounded in realism.

Heeeeehee. Oh Conor! Here's hoping for some angry sex.

I wouldn't believe Conor's love for Liam if this story hadn't clearly shown Conor is a complete romantic, 100%. From Conor's POV, it's his one true love.

Oh! The drama! Now this is Blackwell doing what she does best!

Nooooes! Conor, don't do it! But I understand why you'd do it. And fuck if it isn't the hottest mess of emotions while you're doing it! You love besotted fool, even though the guy has broke your heart before and you know he will again. Fab tension!

I stop here. I can't think about something positive to write about this book.
