Incredibly disturbing, my god! This is what I wanted from Doris Lessing's "Briefing for a Descent into Hell". McCabe does the impossible and makes the reader share the same train of thought as its demented "protagonist", which is to say - makes you insane. So many scenes seem ...normal until a character outside of MC's P.O.V reacts to the delusion we believed with horror. A late contender for best reads of 2025

This was not planned , I'm supposed to be focusing all my energy on " A Brief History of Seven Killings" by Marlon James so I can wrap it up before the year ends and do my year end reading wrapped but the first chapter of this book was so readable I couldn't stop !
