Another library summer reading program selection

I'm finding this book very hard to get into!!!!! It seems to skip around from this woman's childhood to her current situation??? I'll have to come back to it another time.

All I can say is Debbie is stupid and Maggie's whole family is weird.

Really confused and bored. All I've gotten so far is that maggie's grandfather is mean, Helen is a goddess, Monica is evil, and her parents might love each other. What's the point? I'm not really sure....

Another flashback? Wait, is it a flashback? Yeah, uh, no. useful device, but every other page?

Good easy read so far. Nothing profound, but not "fluff" either.

I'm setting this book aside for the moment. A number of the reviews mentioned that it was difficult getting into it and I find that true. I've enjoyed Anna Quindlen in the past but can't seem to get into this one. Will try again another time.
