Excelente la sensación del libro, duda e intriga total, no solo en el personaje sino en uno mismo mientras lo acompaña o se acompaña?

“If he had to make a choice, may he make it now. Then I will either wait for him or forget him. Waiting is painful. Forgetting is painful. BUT NOT KNOWING WHICH TO DO IS THE WORST KIND OF SUFFERING.”

“Regardless of whether we love once, twice, or a dozen times in our life, we always face a brand new situation. Love can co-sign us to hell or to paradise, but it always takes us somewhere. We simply have to accept it, because it is what nourishes our existence. If we reject it, we die of hunger because we lack the courage to stretch out a hand and pluck the fruit from the branches of the tree of life.”

“If we listen to the child who lives in our soul, our eyes will grow bright. If we do not lose contact with that child, we will not lose contact with life.”
“The wise are wise only because they love. And the foolish are foolish only because they think they can understand love.”
“Lovers need to know how to lose themselves and then how to find themselves again.”

“Joy is sometimes a blessing, but is often a conquest. Our magic moment helps us to change and sends us off in search of our dreams. Yes, we are going to suffer… but all of this is transitory… and one day we will look back with pride and faith at the journey we have taken.”

“But ultimately there is no good reason for our suffering for in every love lies the seed of our growth. The more we love, the closer we come to spiritual experience.”
“To love is to be in communion with the other and to discover in that other the speak of god.”

“Traditional religious practices are important: they allow us to share with others the communal experience of adoration and prayer. But we must never forget that spiritual experience is above all a practical experience of love. And with love, there are no rules.”

What an interesting story. This far it’s been a story about a woman trying to find her both the love from her childhood and the feeling of loving the world she had in childhood. She’s doing this by taking risks on unplanned travel, this book also has a strange, ambiguous religious undertone that I really want to dig into. Great so far.

I really like the two continuing themes of her finding love and opening herself up to love at the same time she is opening herself up to religion. A good comment made about love being similar to a narcotic and dependency on a partner, a good reminder to steer away from this.

Not sure where this book is going but I love how self assured he is! Love the push and pull between herself and her heart.
