Didn't care for the characters in The Art of Love.

I bet my face has a silly grin on it because of how Jimuta's story turned out. :) I'm loving this book, which I didn't expect to happen.

I'm loving Rudra the elephant and his trainer Jimuta. I hope their story ends well.

Unable to remember the exact translation, and again annoyed at the necessity of being polite to government agents who were harassing her and her family, Kaushalya at first did not reply. But her duty to remain courteous reasserted itself and she briefly summarized what she knew of the inscription's background.

Just finished reading about a tragic love story between a painter and childhood sweetheart. At her death he wanders the land seeking escape from his memories and in eventually finds closure in painting a mural in a monk's cell. I'm savoring this book...

Still awesome! I just finished reading about an elephant driver. I have a new appreciation for Indian elephants now. They're so sensitive and responsive to their trainers. The way the author writes make you not only feel for the elephant but THINK like one. And the boy who trained him was remarkable. A real "rags to riches " story. It actually made me think of the Biblical account of Joseph. Excellent book so far!

So hard to put this book down! Wish I didn't have so much on today, I keep thinking about it but have no time to read!
