Status Updates From The Darling Dahlias and the...

I switched to the ebook, once I got to know the characters. The story is so good so far.

I just finished listening to disk 2 of the audio book.

Book one in this series introduces the reader to the Ladies of the Club and to others around town....nice read, so far....

I'm not liking this one as much as I usually like SWA's stories. I think because of the style. I'm still reading but not as fast as most I read.

Every year our library has a blind date with a book. Patrons choose a wrapped book and commit to reading at least a quarter of it. I am dating this one.

Kinda wouldn't mind some plot, though??

Slow going. If things don't pick up, I probably will not read the rest of the series.

I started reading this yesterday. Members of the garden club have been introduced. It's set in 1930 and President Hoover is being encouraging about the economy coming back after the Crash. There's been a mention of a ghost on some property the garden club inherited and an ominous event has occurred out at the Prison Camp. Typical set up for the mystery to begin.

Burned out on the China Bayles series, but found this one at a used book store and wanted a light read for bedtime. Hst detail looks good; characters might be too cutesy but not yet decided. Giving it a chance.

Cute stories.

Started off slow with this one (too many flower and gardening references - reminded me of my less-than-green thumb) but now I have the feel for the Dahlias and they are 'darling'.

A-HA! I knew that's who did it. A solid Southern cozy set in 1930 in small-town Alabama.

After reading 2 action books, this one seems a bit tame and I am having a hard time getting into it.

Put it in the donation box. Too boring.

Not liking this series at all. I just cannot get into this book. I only seem to like Chinas stories & her own life. Maybe it will pick up but id not tossing it to the side forever. Sorry bring back China.

Mystery is progressing slowly but I love the characters.

This is the irst in the series so readers are still being introduced to the characters. Author's interuptions during the story are too cutesy; if I hadn't already read book 2 and decided I liked the series I would've stopped reading.

I cant wait.to see what this new series is about. Excited!

The Dahlias are the members of the local garden club in the town of Darling, Alabama. The time is 1930: everyone is very conscious about spending money, which resonates with me in this current economy! Pace is old-fashioned, involves black folks and small town activities. I really like it!

No clue if there is a page one -- this first of the new series is on deck and waiting for me to begin momentarily -- looking forward to it.

It was in the Wimberley Library new books so needed something light. More will be revealed
