Status Updates From Them (Remnants, #3)

Some moments here that read more like the Applegate I know, but I’m still feeling more critical of this one. It’s doing that thing where it alternates focus between various characters from chapter to chapter, with each chapter ending on a cliffhanger before shifting to a different character/situation. I find this mode of writing irritating.

So far this seems like an imitation of K.A.’s voice instead of the real thing. I was highly suspicious this one was ghostwritten, but they usually thank the ghostwriter at the beginning and this one just has the usual “For Jake and Michael” dedication, so I dunno. It definitely feels off, though.
