to herself orual was ungit in that she found herself cruel and in the end useless and selfish, but to the people she ruled over she was their psyche in her kindness, mercy, and prosperity for the kingdom. she did all that wanting and hoping and needing for psyche that it was only when she let go of psyche (even if it was messy) to go on her own that orual gained subconscious courage to become great

i feel so awful for orual she gives and gives but deals with the ignorance of not understanding gods because they don’t bother to come to her, is her fault just being a woman hardened by life and not conventionally attractive, if her and psyche switched places would eros and aphrodite give her any kind of attention or mercy they did psyche?

why does she care so much more about her husband over her own sister it really seems shallow and she’s so naive 😭

I don't know if I'm crazy but the wikipedia entry for this book that claims, "In the second part of the book, the narrator undergoes a change of mindset (Lewis would use the term conversion) and understands that her initial accusation was tainted by her own failings and shortcomings, and that the gods are lovingly present in humans' lives," is such a massive reduction of such a deeply dark and surreal ending. Wtf.
