YIKESSSSS. The R word being used so casually in this book is just a big no. Body image/ED shaming I fear it will only get worse. While i understand this book came out in the early 2000’s and it is a 16 year old girl, to me, these things have never been okay to say sooo I in no way am promoting reading this

im rereading this for fun but it is so much harder to read at 25 with a writing degree than at 10. not even talking abt the story or how outright offensive some of it is but i have had to skip over like 4 unnecessary commas already

There’s something so charming about this book being pure, unabashed teenage girl wish fulfillment from the late 2000s. Every piece of internal narration sounds like my friends and I playing make-believe on the playground
