I’ve read this book before but it’s been a while since. At this point Zoe met her now friends and got invited to the Dark Daughters ritual and I hate Aphrodite, the leader. She’s such a bitch.

When she gets home n her mom sees her mark, “whatever did u do” - she’s not very understanding or nice - Zoe ask that she doesn’t tell her step dad till after she gets to the house of night - step dad seems like a jerk - she has 2 other siblings (older sis ho & brother plays lots of games), she doesn’t pretend not to like him unlike her siblings

As she’s heading back to her car trying to avoid people from seeing her mark she runs into the guy she was talking to him - “whatever Kayla said happened at the party didn’t” did he cheat she wonders? They notice the mark his friends drew & Dustin leave in a hurry knocking heath on his butt & he’s bleeding she notices it smells super good, his friends come pick him up and she drives back home

Zoey Montgomery was w her friend Kayla when she was marked by a tracker - either her body will reject the mark or she’ll be sent to house of night school (vampire school) - her friend looks at her like she just turned into a monster, which they’ve been friends since 3rd grade so this a slap in the face when the tracker appears and marks zoe- she has a blue sign on her forehead that signals she’s marked one now

I read this in middle school and was obsessed with it… Unfortunately, it no longer lives up to the hype. Genuinely mind blown that this was as popular as it was.

Writing was tough at first. 🤣🤣 but the teenage kids are growing on me. I don’t remember the books being so funny. But I suppose as a pre teen I was more concerned about the boys. 😈
