Its getting tedious at times, but most of the while its me marveling at Sankara's intellect.
Plus Sankara skips over these tedious portions with very short / summation sort of commentary. While the longer dialectical commentary is reserved for interesting stuff.

I like to read philosophers at their source, first hand. So far this endeavor wasn't successful with Indian philosophy, since the older texts are cryptic and hard to understand.
This is around 800AD and its pretty much accessible if you know bits about advait vedanta philosophy and few important terminologies, like HiranyaGarbha, Brahman, Purusha sacrific (from Purusha Sukta) and the likes.

I am taking on my third aspirational reading-project.
Starting with Śaṅkarācārya commentary on Brhadaranyaka, followed by his commentary on few more upanishads.
And the grand finale with his 900+ pages commentary on Brahma Sutra (Also known as Vedanta Sutra.)
** 1st was complete works on Plato and 2nd, Gibbon's 6 volume of Rome history.

This book is getting really tough to read. The explanations are too lengthy and unnecessarily academic. I guess i should get hold of a better translation.
