'The Cask of Amontillado' was a solid story, meanwhile 'The Sphinx' was a uh story I guess.

Two more stories down.
I did not really care about 'The System of Dr. Tarr & Professor Fether', just another story I felt probably wasn't that well translated. However, I enjoyed 'The Facts in The Case of M. Valdemar' which all in all was a fun little read. Nowhere near the best of the collection, but slightly above average.

'The Purloined Letter' was an alright read, however not as good as the previous C. Auguste Dupin story.
'The Imp of The Perverse' was not good. I had a hard time getting into it and it just did not work. I think the original, english version however might be better.

Two more short stories done. 'The Premature Burial' was AMAZING! It has probably become my second favorite of the collection. However, the following short story, 'Thou Art The Man', was an attempt on something along the lines of 'The Murders in Rue Morgue' but nowhere near as brilliant. One of the worst of this collection to be perfectly honest

Thank GOD the translation did not ruin The Black Cat. My all time favorite story from good old Edgar and I am happy to announce that this time, it was just as excellent of a read as always. Nothing can compare to the harrowing thoughts this little tale brings to my head, at the same time as it brings me nostalgia of my younger days when I read it in school.

So I've read 'The Tell-Tale Heart' and 'The Gold-Bug'.
While 'The Tell-Tale Heart' was a spooky little tale that I quite enjoyed, 'The Gold-Bug' wasn't. However, tomorrow I'll read 'The Black Cat' and I hope this translated version won't ruin my favorite short story by good old Ed

So I just read The Pit and the Pendulum and goddamn I loved it, even the Deus Ex Machina ending. Yesterday I read The Masque of The Red Death, which was good as well. But so far, The Pit and The Pendulum is one of my favorites from this collection

So I just read the first ever Detective story, "The Murders in Rue Morgue", and in my humble opinion, I think no other detective story that I've read has reached this level of perfection. The ending, the final reveal, is perfect. No author since Poe ha written a reveal like this. And now, I am excited to revisit the Clive Barker unofficial sequel "New Murders in Rue Morgue" which I also adored!

I gotta say, I LOVE reading Poe. However, I am still unsure about how good the translation is. Though, I had fun reading 'The Fall of the House of Usher' and 'William Wilson', though 'MS. Found in a Bottle' is still my favorite of the collection.

So, I've so far read 3 short stories, one a day. So far, my favorite has been MS. Found in a Bottle. I am stoked to read some of the classics, though I think I should have bought it in English for the best experience, still, good so far!
