What if the winners of this game don't really leave?

Here's the thing with "willing suspension of disbelief." A scarecrow magically comes to life on the night of Halloween while its Jack O'Lantern head is being carved, yeah, I totally buy it. It could happen. Said scarecrow can drive a car, no, that's completely unrealistic. I don't believe it.

Every Halloween this small Midwestern town observes a ritual hunt for the "October Boy," a scarecrow with a jack o'lantern head brought magically to life each year. After being locked in their rooms without food for 5 days, the teenage boys are turned loose, hungry and crazed, to attempt to catch the October Boy before he reaches the church doorstep.

Love this book. A real page turner. It’s nice to read something so content rich and so well written.

I'm finding it hard to finish this book. I feel like it was written by a high school freshmen that has a vague concept of narrative.

Now that's what I call a great Halloween read...

Man the narrative of this book is horrendous but the story itself is cool.

This is soo boring....zzzzzz

50 pages in, and I'm still having trouble getting into this one. It's pretty short, though. So, I guess I'm going to keep on going.

So I like this story so far... what I don't like is they way the narrative is told. Something about the way it's written bugs me and I can't quite put my finger on it.

So I don't get how this books gotten 4-5 star reviews, it's so far a 3-3.5. I'm not saying it's bad at all! But... it's just ok.

I've been wanting to read this for a long time. So far it's pretty interesting!
