We finished the book with a story about how chaotic life can be, it goes into detail about how things just sometimes don’t go our way but at the end of the day we are going to be alright. We just keep going and pushing forward to achieve better results.

We discussed further the detriment of ego and how it can cause us to lose out on opportunities of growth and fortune. We need to be able to listen to those with more experience, teach someone with less experience and engage with someone with same experience. We also discussed the importance of privilege, power and entitlement and how that can affect the way we see the world for what it is.

Hugh has discussed the flow state and how to achieve it, the flow state is when the body excretes all 4 feel-good hormones at the same time. He also has discussed the detriment of having an inflated ego, and how it can affect the way react to situations and our emotions. Emotional literacy is also touched on.

We have read about Ryan Shelton and how he joined the Resilient project. We also read about the importance of having not just friends, but the right friends. People who motivate, boost, love, are happy for, provide constructive feedback for you. It is good to work out that family doesn’t necessarily mean they are your friends and that friends can be as close as family.

Between pages 101 and 163 Hugh goes into detail about perfectionism, losing control, fear of failure and honing your skills. He also lines these topics with stories of actual people, specifically Hamish Blake, MB, Matt, Ben Cousins and Ben Crowe.
