Status Updates From The Book Eaters

Trudging along… I hate DNFing because there are a handful of books I was so glad I didn’t because the back half was far superior to the first. This has me interested enough to keep going but I’m just not really connecting with any characters

This is upsetting and a good character moment, but i feel so disconnected from it as commentary. Like, how often are mothers being made to give up their babies? I think it’s more often the opposite: women being expected by default to handle everything to do with babies.
