Engrossed Reader is 45% done

At 45% and I don't know if I'm reading the same book that most other readers have given 5 stars for a brilliant dark romance. Why is the MMC shooting or stabbing anyone who looks at the FMC and feeding to his murder pigs. Why does the FMC character say that's she's traumatised from her previous domestic violence relationship but MMC gets a pass for all of his extreme behaviour. This isn't crazy love but stupid

This is 100% better than the previous series. The characters feel less flat and it doesn’t feel rushed. I also love the interactions between the characters.

I have a goal to get through Kyle Kent’s catalog. I think her later books will be a lot better. I won’t say her earlier works are super bad but they lack dimension and feel very flat. The stories go by very quickly leaving some plot holes.
