Skipped Avengers West Coast Annual #4.

There’s an interview with John Bryne that I found quite interesting. It makes the reason why certain things are going on in the series a little bit clearer.

Avengers West Coast #52 -
And just like that, the barely used twins are no longer around!

It does make sense that they were never ‘real’ but I think the ‘baby arms’ could’ve been left on the drawing table.

More confusing timelines and explanations.

But Mephisto appears, having tricked Pandemonium. Agatha's cat fights him, allowing the team to escape.

Then Agatha erases the twins from Wanda’s mind…

Avengers West Coast #51 -
Agatha Harkness has returned from the ‘mild inconvenience’ of being burned at the stake…

Agatha determines the twins disappear when Wanda’s not thinking of them, such as in life threatening situations.

Then demons attack! Followed by Master Pandemonium.
A quick fight before he announces his work is done…

We get a recap of MPs deal with Mephisto before the team go to his dimension…

Avengers West Coast #50 -
Rewriting history gets very convoluted.

Pym questions Immortus’ involvement while staring at a shrunken, crazed Tigra…

With some wild round-about ways to explain circumstances later… The revived Human Torch (the OG one) is welcomed to the team!
(Funny how Johnny and Jim look VERY similar.)

Also, back… Iron Man!

Oh and Master Pandemonium is getting ready…

Avengers West Coast #49 -
This story got super weird with all this ‘That Which Endures’ and ‘only the strong survive’ stuff.

I did skim some bits, mostly the Great Lake Avengers ones. Tho, one of them is the key to the heroes success.

The end bit with Cap’s murmurs makes me think this was meant to be a lesson. I think it was covered by too much SCI-FI.

Avengers West Coast #48 -
I love the teasing of a storyline we won’t get answers to for a while...

Cap America and She-Hulk arrive at the facility and become increasingly suspicious.

Then there’s a thing with Immortus and his reasons for lying about Vizh’s origins.

AND Hawkeye and Mockingbird are still on the same team?!

An issue where lots of things are being teased and new plots are being introduced.

West Coast Avengers #47 -
We learn the real reason why Simon won’t give Vision his brain waves again… because Simon is in love with Wanda!

Jan is all for the man to go for it… tho, a little hard at the moment with Wanda ignoring him.

Thinking she was going to find help, sees Wanda as the victim of a trap!

Jeremiah Random wants the mutant gene?!

AND the twins have disappeared again…

Avengers Spotlight #26 -
I didn’t read all of this but a quick skim gives me the impression this was a way Marvel used to reintroduce Vision and give a brief summary of his history for new readers.

I loved how we got to see the various reactions of the team at the end.

Issue #45 -
Hawkeye’s anger boils over and quits the team!

Tigra has mutated?!... But she’s not the only one who’s changed…

Gone are the vibrant colours of the Vision, he now has an all-white hue!
Then after some insisting, creates a new all-white costume. (Which kinda reminds me of Martian Manhunter.)

Sadly, Vizh also lacks emotional understanding. Bc Simon refused to provide his brain waves again…

Issue #44 -
The obliteration of Vision was sanctioned by a temporary international cooperation of governments.

Coincidentally, Wasp found Horton, creator of the Human Torch android…but he’s never seen Vs structure before?!

Wanda's twins also... didn't disappear??

Obligatory fight with a half-restored Vizh before a major (or should I say Captain…) spoiler ending!

Issue #43 -
With that dramatic entrance making everyone mad, Bobbi explains she didn’t mean for this to happen. But she did come up with the plan the people she thought were SHIELD executed.

My question; Bobbi was missing for 3 weeks and NO ONE noticed??

Bobbi tries to explain her behaviour, but we the reader know it was just for us.

Eventually, Vision is found… completely disassembled!

Issue #42 -
Wanda wakes to a missing husband!

After an obligatory fight with a fake Ultron and some mid-battle flashbacks to a past we ALL know by now, Hank tells the increasingly distressed wife that every single file on or from Vision has been completely erased…

Because of Mockingbird?!!

Also, Tigra is having some issues…

Issue #41 -
Bobbi, Tigra and Moon Knight hired Daimon Hellstrom to finally deal with the Phantom Rider… Turns out there’s two of them!

Eventually, the original PR Carter Slade wins and hands his great, great nephew his destiny as the new Phantom Rider!

Hamilton feels his glorious future and promises to make amends for Lincoln’s actions. (Who was banished to a Netherworld).

Issue #39 -
Clint is saddened by the family scene when Wanda & Vizh pick up their twins from Simon’s mum.

Giant Man tells the trio he’s gonna see Hank before Phantom Rider attacks!
Very briefly because Khonshu appears and the spectre runs.

The WC team help Mantis discover what happened after she left Earth.
After a fight with the reanimated corpse of Swordsman…

Mantis needs time to process all she’s lost.
