Intrigued by both prefaces to the story. I have not read this book since high school and certainly was not framed to read it within these contexts.

It’s weird to know the dynamic of the actual words written “sin, sin… dreadful places” but the sins are not described in detail. What is painfully detailed is all of his studies and those might be true passions 🤷‍♀️

Yet another classic book I’ve already seen a film adaption of before reading. No complaints though, I will be using the image of Ben Barnes from that movie while I read. 🤭
