Hoewel ik dacht dat het boek meer de verhalen zou vertellen van wat de personages in het schrift zouden opschrijven, valt dit mij niet tegen. Het is geen heel diepgaand boek, maar wel leuk om te lezen

Chapter 10

Holy shit!! Mary!

Each of these characters goes through a phase of feeling sorry for themselves. Then they try to help someone else and feel better. It goes well, it goes to shit. Rinse repeat.
Life is like that…

The Alice chapters(at least the early ones) are making me queasy. Thank fucking god I never had children.

One book blurb implied someone might fall in love. I hope Monica does…but if it’s with Hazard, I will scream. There’s not enough character development that could happen in this book to make him worthy of her (or anyone for that matter).

I love reading Clare. A warmth engulfs you when you read her books. They are all just so positive! She should write more books very quickly. 😄

I’VE MISSED THEM

Bleh

This story- the author’s debut novel- has an interesting premise, but I’m not enjoying it as much as her more recent books, Iona Iverson… and How to Age Disgracefully. It does show her growth as an author.

This one started strong, but the second half seems to be going off the rails a little. I’ve subsequently read others’ reviews that felt the same at about this point. It’s a relief it’s not just me.

Slowly but surely this has become such a cozy read. Small town vibes but it takes place in London. I’m Not at all in a hurry to finish this book

started off a bit slow (and cheesy) then it got good, now a bit slow again (tbh I’m just pining for the sweet romance entwined in this story to come back lol)

It honestly feels like there’s barely any plot here.

Interesting premise. Woman who changed careers and opened a little cafe. A lonely old man with a green journal to tell his story. I love it so far

i hate this audio narration. or is the writing? i cant tell yet.

”I går är historia, i morgon ett mysterium, i dag en gåva” mumlade hon för sig själv när hon borstade tänderna.

Varför hade han inte begripit att Mary var hans musa förrän hon var borta? Han hade trott att en musa måste vara eterisk och tillfällig, inte den som alltid fanns där. Om han hade förstått det skulle livet kanske ha sett annorlunda ut i dag.

Hon dröjde kvar vid tanken på honom i några ögonblick för att se om det fortfarande gjorde ont. Men hon kände inget annat än en dov trötthet. Bra där, Monica.

Rileys uppträdande var så fullkomligt avslappnat och en stark kontrast till den stelhet man vanligtvis kunde stöta på hos Londonborna.

För stunden sorterade hon in tanken under rubriken “alltför jobbig att tänka på för ögonblicket”. Hon skulle utan tvekan plocka fram den senare.
