Light reading before 'The Charge of the Light Brigade'.

I was soooo excited to start this book, but unfortunately haven't had much time to read lately. These long pauses between reading is making me forget details and making the book uninteresting so I might have to reshelf it for the time being.

Begins with Leonard Cohen lyrics... Good start.

Main character mentions it's October when I'm supposed to be reading this for a book set during spring... Bad start.

C'est un peu tarabiscoté quand même cette histoire. Bizarrement divertissant mais en même temps, je comprends pas vraiment pourquoi je lis ? Bref. Bientôt fini de toute façon, je finirai en ebook.

Even for a feel-good bit of light entertainment, this was ridiculous and implausible: the plot, the characters, and the dialogue. Also, I think it must be sponsored by Apple: so many unidiomatic mention of iPhones.

Brzo se čita.Opuštajuće, nakon silnih trilera.Nema toliko nekih besmislenih događanja i opisa. Ono što mi je zasmetalo je fraza ,,užasno sretni". Nekima će to biti oksimoron i imat će smisla, možda je to samo sloboda prijevoda, ali zar ne postoji neki drugi izraz da se dočara da beskrajna sreća? Pomalo zbunjeje taj izraz ,,užasno sretni", ako ćemo ga filozofski htjeti protumačiti. Što to znači biti užasno sretan?

Knjiga me je privukla naslovom. No, čitajući prve redke, malo me je naživciralo to, kao..pun kafić, Monica ipak izlazi iz kafića na ,,pola sata" i ide busem na groblje nakon što je pročitala prve stranice knjige. Tamo kao već sjedi čovjek koji je ostavio knjigu, a ona čeka da on ide...Ono, ne možeš tek tako otić iz kafića dok je tvoja smjena, kao na pola sata, a znaš da će to trajati više od pola sata.. Vidjet ćemo

Oh dear. I borrowed this, which means I didn't waste any money, but also that I feel a bit more obligation to finish it. A couple of friends said this was charming and light, and I thought the concept sounded interesting. It's certainly light, but it's all so banal. Still, I'll whizz through in the (probably vain) hope it improves!

Finished a third and couldn’t continue. Really weak character building.

I finally picked this book back up and my god, I want to slap Monica in the face. Get a grip girl !

Little cliche. Still a good read but getting kinda repetitive and slightly boring. Just curious where it is gonna go!

Alice's life sounds like a nightmare. Fuck any dude whose wife has a baby and he's not right there in the thick of it with her.

"I use that," he said, gesturing at a dark-green Bakelite telephone in the corner with a dial and a heavy receiver attached to a coiled cord. Monica went over to look more closely. The disk in the center of the dial read Fulham 3276. "Besides," continued Julian, "you can slam down a phone like that. You can't slam down a mobile. Imagine, a whole generation who'll never know the joy of slamming down a phone."

I am liking Hazard against my will. Yes, that's his real name. Middle, but still: real. Impressive considering what a colossal jackass he was at the beginning of the book.

Yeesh, this has kind of terrible reviews. All two star reviews from my GR friends who've read it. I got it at BN on one of their buy two get one free sales and my TBR Jar has told me to read it. This may go very poorly.

Love the multiple perspectives

I didn’t feel this book lived up to the hype, it was ok with a good ending.
Although it was refreshing with a totally different plot.
