I went back and skimmed some bits

Mostly the beast/Thane chapters.

And before that, that old queen, the mmcs mother???

Bitch of a woman.

So I glimpsed and skimmed like a few sentences…plus the table of contents before that..and, just, no.

The entire book, this entire thing, from the blurb to the excessive authors notes and remarks…it all comes off as very offputting.

Comparable to those paid adverts. Fucking cringe.

I don’t care enough about these damn characters to learn more tidbits about them

I honestly can't wrap my mind around one of the reviews I read before reading this book. We get a backstory with pertinent information about Shades mom, her dad, her uncle, and the Queen. How is this book irrelevant? Well, so far, I'm glad I read that review with a grain of salt. This chapter with the story of the last origin is worth the read
