Status Updates From Aero (2019-) #2

To prove to Red Feather that she is not messed up from the company that gave her powers (why not?) she wants to find them (how?) and thinks that is a good idea? To prove that she is not messed up she should not have attacked him and become so aggressive. From his perspective she acts pretty much as if she was controlled by that company.

Oh for fucks sake. Is Wave supposed to be such a hypochondriac? She already acts as if she lost everything when she hasn't done a single thing to solve her problems and that is why I have no sympathy for her. She messed this up on her own and like I said: I suspect that this story is sexist against women without knowing it.

What do you mean that Aero can sense something in the air that she things is triumph division? In the last story she could identify boxes in pockets and find people with her powers. At least keep… screw it.

Red feather is not a jerk he is… oh right, he is a man and they are women and in a story b Greg Pak that means that he is wrong and they are right. Sorry, but there is no reason for them to be this upset… wait, women being unreasonably upset? Could it be that this story is actually sexist against women without knowing it? ^^

Wave become stronger by working with Aero? Do they mean the combination of their powers or do they actually mean that Wave got stronger because AERO is there?
And now Aero stops Wave... when it is convenient for the story. And all Red feather was doing was taking Aero's weapons and in fact she is not even thrown out apparently she is basically suspended. So the comic contradicts itself.

Wow, Pearl comes across as really unreasonable here and not even in a way that is understandable as so far Red feather comes across as more reasonable than her. And Aero is useless so far. She doesn't even try to calm anyone down she is making everything worse.

Oh right, back to the forced conflict with red feather. Still no idea why Wave doesn't just demand to clear her name or something.

So Aero was her apprentice… in what? This suggested Aero has new powers, so if her old were different why is she so skilled with her air powers?

If Aero has new powers and new weapons how could Huang have taught her everything she knows? Or is this supposed to be explained by Huang being crazy? Allegedly crazy. Because then all she does to "hurt" Huang is a strong blast... dumb. And that apparently makes her use her back-up plan.
Ps. Why does Huang remind me so much of sterotypical chinese female crime bosses from martial arts movies?

Learned from the past and lost too much? Didn't see any of that so far. Oh please kill her boyfriend… no make, him dump her. That would make her a delicious whiner baby. Because the way this is written I doubt this can be saved in any way. And I am at page 18 so probably the next story will come soon. Why do that instead of introducing Aero fully? No idea.

If it were me, I would make him break up with her because of her being a workaholic. Because that is how this comes across. That and that her boss can call her on her private time and apparently that is fine.
And the boyfriend even says he thought that she would leave the office in the office from now on.
Aero comes across as pretty unlikeable so far.

And she stopped the Violine melody by counteracting the air currents. So she seems to know that her boyfriend wants to propose to her and... she doesn't want it? Or is a control freak? Because with what was shown last issue that would fit. AND fits with what she does do here. She manipulates all this because she is not ready to hear him propose to her. Arrogant much? Or is this supposed to be considerate?

She can also feel the box in her boyfriends (why bother memorizing his name?) pocket? That is not air related, that is being clairvoyant! The whole thing with the man and the Violine is one thing because they are moving visibly (even though it is still close to claivoyance) but not a box in a pocket.

Madame Huang... and on her cheongsam there is a feng huang… not the worst name but a bid on the nose and speaking of that: She is EVIL!!! And crazy. And she wants to land her floating city on Shanghai and show those who resisted what sort of mercy they've earned themselves. The last time I have seen a villain that dumb was in Avengers Axis.

She can "feel the heartbeats of thousands of innocent people around" them… and last issues there were no innocents around them? Not to mention, is this building monster also empty of people when it was created?

So is it Chi? Does the air carry her Chi? Is that it?
And if she can transform buildings into monsters, why not transform one into several and overwhelm Aero? Oh right, because I spend more time thinking about this than the author.

Wait, how does she know the "monster has a mistress? She straight up refers to her as a she. Does she know her? And the air will tell her? How? It is not explained and I am wondering how the air (except the smell) could tell her anything about where a specific person is. There are tons of air currents in such a big city. So how does it work?



And why does she leave that vaguely bird-like shape when she flies?

Aero would be able to bring down the city in the sky alone´? No wonder I get Mary Sue vibes from her. And she only doesn't do it because it would destroy the city… ok, that means she has morals. But considering how overpowered and overskilled they presented her so far (without explanation) I wonder why she didn't just blow it out to the sea. After all Shanghai is a seaside city.

"The astonishing, awe-inspiring AERO"...I think it is really weird when authors do this when they must know that superheroes do not have unusual powers. After all, AERO is an airbender, plain and simple. That is nothing new.
