Status Updates From The Doors of Eden

If you read a book of one of your favorite writers, you have high expectations. For the first time i feel let down. I have to imagine that the Adrian Tchaikovsky who wrote this book came from a different timeframe/world and has never written before. Its a mishmash of genres/books/movies badly linked together. I managed to read 1/3 of the book before i gave up.
I still can't believe Adrian Tchaikovsky wrote this book.

Original, intriguing, brilliant ideas and world-building plus top notch inventiveness.
