That was actually a concept for a story, so that was an improvement. Literally read like a page of brainstorming, and it honestly makes me sad to see something like that in final published form. It's a weird new idea that could have had characters and a plot if the author cared enough to flesh it out. Loads of potential as a concept, total garbage as a finished product

That wasn't a story, that was a thought exercise beginning with the presumption that gaining weight is as inevitable as gaining height... You got fiction down, you're missing the science

Erneut eine starke Geschichte. Beängstigend weiter gedachte Version der Fitnessarmbänder.

Uff. Starke Sprache!

The fourth story is about the surgery and how doctors visits work, and how everyone is on board with that horror. But it’s also about the community fighting back, and with Em even has some nuance. I’m glad this collection. Ended on a hopeful note. We come together to hold each other <3.

Eat less, work out more, be grateful for the “love” bequeathed to you from your magnanimous controller/partner/society. If these “solutions” don’t work, have faith you will be solved out of existence. After all, this is paradise.

This story’s prose is a bit more narrative than the last story. Feels like “The Princess Saves Herself in This One”.

Another story down. Damn! I mean, I knew the author was basing her stories off of real life policies, practices, and tech, but DAMN it’s horrific! I know exactly what’s being drawn upon, and yet somehow it upsets me all over again. It’s heartbreaking and terrifying.

The first story- being short is an analogy for being fat. Every horrific “solution” and the treatment of the main character is nonfiction. The prose and format feel poetic. This story is one big “ouch”, as it’s intended. I’d like to hear this read out loud (again, like a poem).

This is supposed to be dystopian but I have a horrible feeling that many people in real life would already be okay with a lot of the stuff in this dystopia.
