Lucie was also about men dissatisfied with their lot in life seeking adventure and attracted you younger beautiful women . I wonder why this is something female authors write? something

This is a book worth a lot of loneliness in it and existential angst. I wonder why so many danish books are about these two topics? It might just be me who don't find them all that interesting?

Well at least that was resolved quite quickly and motivation was not what it seemed but rather manipulation of a parent's love... But the whole thing of the manipulative teenage girl *sigh*

Stories are dangerous things, the build narratives of how the world works in our minds. Which is why stories of young women manipulating older men out of spite (because of a romantic rejection) is so problematic. It's such a harmful trope, that make people in real life less likely to trust the world of young women. And it's a very gendered narrative, it's simply not one told with the genders reversed.

Yeah, I like it so fare! It's always hard reading things by people you know because you want to like it, which makes me apprehensive to start it... What is you hate it?
But do fate I like it and I want to know more. The setting is interesting! I love that Ejvind is not thought to be mad but believed but that is very telling about the setting.

I just talked my book circle into reading this with me. I'm really looking forward to diving into the strangeness of this book!
