As I’ve been checking on the historical sanitation that takes place in this book, I saw the term historical fantasy, and that would have been a much more accurate genre label.

This is a book club read, my pick as I received it as a gift, and it’s slow going for me. It’s really very good, but it’s too real for my level of absorption into a story, so I’m stressed out the whole time. It’s a me problem, it’s why I stick to fantasy given the choice. It’s also a little difficult that they each have a real name, fake name, and code name.
