This is PAINFUL! I can't believe I'm only 60% through it. I had such high hopes for this one but good grief, some of the phrasings are beyond cringe-worthy. I will finish it though.

circa 2007, there was this popular fanfiction trope i personally called the “angel” trope even if the angel character more often than not was an alien. it basically went this way: mc1 is alone and sad, mc2 (angel) appears in their life and depends on mc1 since they don’t know this world. together they need to do whatever and fall in love along the way.

to me, this book feels a bit like that, but insta-love.

guys, guys, surely it’s a bit too chilly for taking off your pants?! aren’t you at the top of a mountain in the middle of a snowstorm?!

mm. while not particularly bothered by the flowery writing for now (unlike many others), i am questioning in what world someone who had a nightmare about falling off the cliff of a mountain would wish to go hike said mountain irl following the discovery of this particular location. doesn’t make much sense to me.

i just dnfed the previous book of the series after really digging the one before that. i see that most of my friends have abandoned this one, but i am too stubborn to not give it a try. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

What am I reading?

Really liked these three a lot... only issue is that the whole "Vale Valley" portion of the story feels off in some way.

I don't even know what to say but I'm lost. So far this book isn't making a lick of sense. This love scene is ridiculous. I maybe on my way to a DNF.
