I haven’t hated an MC this much since Zelie from Children of Blood and Bone, and at least Zelie didn’t openly abuse and berate the people she claims she loves. Full review is going to be SCATHING towards Emanuela unless something changes right quick

The main character in this book is awful but I love her so much

The face I made while reading this was a gift that’s sadly not captured. I’m grossed out and suprised. And
Mara Fitzgerald you can write well and are creative but your inner fantasy really terrified me. Also it has been 3 days? This book could be called “Occhia’s, Verene’s and Ale’s really bad, horrible, no good 3 days”. After all the damages that been done…yeah I don’t think there will be romance

Well that went from kind of bad and kind of unlikable to disasterous kind of fast

Over the half in this little magic book and man the pacing still isn’t slowing down. I don’t think I’m getting a romance in this book as right now it’s mostly murder attempts. It’s also interesting how while Ale is openly gay, Emanuala seems more repressed as admitting it would mean losing control power. Honestly… I get everyone motivation but also why Emanuela is angry.

I GOT THIS MY ARC FINALLY ARRIVED FROM A MONTH DELAY and so far it luckily doesn’t dissapoint I’m always happy books I hype up end up being good and this one is!! Like after I got it I read 100 pages in one sitting! The pacing in this is extremely fast…
but still got time for flashback: it works! Also didn’t expect Emanuela to have family and that religion played a big role.

Ale and Emanuela are amazing, i hope they keep my interest because I just noticed there's a sequel shgkdfhg

damn talk about some super skillful instant characterisation. I'm honestly bummed it adhered to the annoying new YA rule of "set up everything and tear it all down with a TWIST in the first chapter". I wanted more of the normalcy.
