Status Updates From Queenie

Im extremely angry at Cassandra and the way she treated Queenie after finding out Guy was her boyfriend - I hope karma gets her and that her dad hasn’t paid for their house. Now that Queenie going for counselling and revealing her childhood, I hope that she’ll start to see her value and be heard by others. I love her friend and her cousin looking out for her - I read so many pages last night!

Finally she’s getting help - I nearly wept when her grandad granted her permission to go to counselling. I also nearly wept when she went to her old flat to see Tom and he had a new girlfriend - who was from his work!! I’m so angry about the Tweed Guy from work and her manager not taking her writing about BLM seriously.

I hope that Queenie sees her worth soon by address her past. We hav e been introduced to her mum for the first time and I’m seeing synergy with how little Queenie values herself (hence Guy) and how little her mum must have valued herself to abandon her child for an abusive partner. Queenie is letting Guy use her as he pleases despite her knowing its wrong and I can see how this may have happened to her mum.

I’m racing through the pages desperate for Queenie to get her life out of chaos. She is such a likeable character - you can only empathise with her heartbreak and self-sabotage. I find myself laughing out loud to her one liners but equally measures worrying for her wellbeing. I’m intrigued about her past - in particular her relationship with her mum and the reason behind her night terrors.
