Status Updates From The King's Horrible Bride (...

I'm disappointed. The romance felt overshadowed by the MCs' lust and irrelevant compared to the spicy scenes. The FMC was a doormat whilst the MMC tried to fix everything with spicy time. The plot was often time-jumped so it could move which showed a weak writing style. And the spicy scenes felt odd, if a bit unnatural. Overall, I expected more romance and a better, more refined plot, but in all aspects it fell flat.

I… I just… I don’t even know how to express what I think. I cringe at the spicy scenes. Or rather than the spicy scenes, it’s the way the words are used. And the whole “cherry juice” comment made me snort because that was not sexy.

I feel like there’s some romance in the book, but it is so overshadowed by lust that it’s not only hard to see but also feels irrelevant which is disappointing.

God, why is it always insta-lust? They just met for the first time (from what we can see) and they are already eye-f*cking each other and she is turned on by just watching him? Ah I’m so disappointed.

This is a 174-page book and by page 40 they still haven’t met. It’s all about the politics, the monarchy and the country. Is this even romance?

Trying to pinpoint exactly what it is about Kati Wilde’s writing that I adore… I think it might be that it’s sweet without being cheesy, mature without being boring, and very, very hot.
