I believe I'm having deja vu.

This book is not a favourite of mine, but the author has become a favourite of mine. Nevertheless, I see this being no less than 5 stars.

Agatha has a mental condition, which she was born with. She is not like the other teens in her clan. She also has a hidden talent, which she is told about by a clan elder, but she doesn't know about.


Jaime is a boy who is an Angler in the clan. However, he hates his duty. For unknown reasons, the elders have arranged for him to marry a younger girl from a neighbouring island. He doesn't want to do that, either.

The FMC is 15 (It's tagged as middle-grade, more so, YA).

The cover looks like Native American, but the story takes place in various locations around Scotland, like the Isle of Skye.

So far (I'm but on the third page), I'm liking it. This is not to say that I won't like the rest of it, because I can tell by those first two pages that it's well written, as well as well designed, and that it's going to be a good book and trilogy.

Very much anticipated next read.
It's been in my library since forever.
Author is UK based.
Story takes place in Scotland.
The covers are top tier.
