I’m about halfway through this book and I can tell that I’ve found a new favorite author. hooks is witty, challenging, and readable. I am already looking at getting her other books! I’m sure this will be a 5 star read and I have another 100~ pages to go.

There is a definite distinction between that marginality which is imposed by oppressive structures and that marginality one chooses as site of resistance, as location of radical openness and possibility.

“Oggi voglio ricordare queste donne nere.

Our words are not without meaning, they are an action, a resistance. Language is also a place of struggle.
