A strange mishmash of American and British spellings was a bit disconcerting. The story however was very engaging. Will read the next. Eventually.

Really want to DNF this... strangely written, uncomfortable tense, depressing.

I like that this book uses the present tense. Felt odd at first, but it works.

That was agonizing.
The opening scene marked the beginning of Paul's downfall.
So many things happened. Each bringing him lower and lower, even though spur of the moment some of them might have seemed like something good.
Anyway, there's a relief at the end. And a surprising sense of completeness.
