Oh I like this

Audiobooks got me fucked up cause I’ll listen for what feels like an hour and then it’s only been like 5% of the book

Dene’s description of being “ambiguously not white” hit me hard because I’ve experienced that SO much. I feel like people perceive me more as “ambiguously probably white,” but I genuinely can’t count the number of times I’ve been asked if I was “Mexican” and have been called anti-Asian slurs💀
I don’t look native enough to get called it, but I’m different enough to get asked.

hi guys this is the last week of my offices summer reading challenge so i will be making some crazy moves to solidify my win

The first section is about Dene. “There There” comes up both as a song and as a quote. There’s also a lot of mentionings of how media is consumed, ie makings us feel something be it smart, a feeling knowing someone else felt what you felt, or a feeling of righteousness because of how we interpret said media.

After literarly the longest break. I'm done with thisss

In the beginning, some of the vignettes were hit or miss for me but in the middle it started getting really good and connecting some interesting things.
